Time-Block Planner for Work-From-Home Moms

Enter wake time, the morning routine, nap or school hours, and bedtime. See the work blocks you really have today, and put your three tasks into the biggest ones.

Work blocks you actually have

— h

One deep task per block, the smallest block for email. If there are fewer blocks than tasks, the third thing moves to tomorrow — that's the plan working, not failing.

    How I use it

One deep task per long block — writing, building, anything that needs an unbroken hour. The shortest block gets email and small admin. Evening blocks after bedtime are real, but I don't put the hardest work there; by then I'm not the same person I was at 9am.

    Questions I get asked

What if I get no blocks?
Lower the minimum block length, or accept that today is a kid day. The planner is meant to show the real shape of a day, and some days the honest answer is 45 minutes after bedtime.
    Why only three tasks?
Because on a normal day with kids, three is what fits. Blocks get interrupted; the fourth task is where the guilt starts. Anything not placed moves to tomorrow, which is the system working.
How do I use the school hours?
Enter school start and end and leave nap blank; the planner treats school hours as free and the gap between the morning routine and school start as kid time.
    Does it save my plan?
No — it's a daily tool. Use 'Copy today's plan' and paste it into your notes app.
