AdSense Earnings Estimator: What Your Traffic Could Pay

Estimate monthly ad income from pageviews and a realistic page RPM for your topic — then work backwards to see how much traffic $100 a month really takes.

From Search Console or Analytics — real, not hoped-for.

Page RPM = earnings per 1,000 pageviews. These are broad, illustrative ranges; your real RPM depends on where readers are, the season, and how many ad units fill. Enter your own once you have 30 days of data.

AdSense pays when the balance reaches the payment threshold (US$100 for accounts paid in US dollars), so at small numbers the first payout can be months away. Google's payment-threshold page has the current figure.

How to read the result

Treat it as a ceiling, not a forecast. The number that matters is the reverse one: the pageviews you'd need for a goal. If $100 a month needs 25,000 pageviews and you have 2,000, the plan is content and search traffic for a year, not tweaking ad placement.

What I've seen on my own sites

Topic matters as much as traffic. My pregnancy and baby sites earn several times more per thousand views than my Chinese-language sites, with similar traffic, because of where the readers are and what the advertisers sell. The note on ad RPM by niche walks through the actual figures.

Questions I get asked

What is page RPM?
Revenue per 1,000 pageviews. If a site earns $12 from 3,000 pageviews, its page RPM is $4. It is the single most useful number for comparing sites, and it's shown in your AdSense reports once you have ads running.
Where do the topic ranges come from?
They are broad, illustrative ranges that reflect how advertisers price different topics — finance and software pay more than general lifestyle. They are not measurements and not promises. Once you have 30 days of real data, select 'I'll enter my own RPM'.
Why is my real RPM lower than the range?
Readers outside high-paying countries, pages with few ad units, mobile traffic, and the time of year all lower it. In my own experience a new parenting site with mostly non-US readers can sit well under the bottom of the range.
When does AdSense actually pay?
Monthly, once your balance reaches the payment threshold for your country (US$100 for USD accounts). At small numbers that first payout can take months; Google's help center lists the thresholds.
